Accomplishments

• created a Periodicals Department web page for the Library website.
• Scanned copies of the Victoria Business Magazine and converted them to PDF in a search for a permanent storage medium.
• Added volumes to Victoria Advocate holdings and posted a searchable list on the Periodicals Department web page.

Special Project

2005 was the 20th year of publication for the Index to Texas Magazines and Documents. Mitzie participated in a panel of state indexers at the American Society of Indexers annual conference. We made the decision to move the Index to the web, and purchased the Reference manager software to do so. Unfortunately, the software did not prove sufficient for our needs, and we decided to migrate the Index to an Access database to use with a search engine utilizing Cold Fusion prepared by Library Staff. We scanned copies of the Index to Texas Magazines and Documents no longer in electronic format for posting on the website in PDF.
